P.V. Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, and Kidambi Srikanth have made a strong start in the Thailand Open Super 500 badminton tournament. All three Indian star players have entered the pre-quarterfinals of the competition. Two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu defeated Chinese Taipei’s Huang Ching-ping 21-9, 21-12 today. Lakshya Sen won against Singapore’s Jia Heng Jason Teh with a score of 21-16, 21-17. With this victory, the Indian player remains undefeated in six matches against Jia.
In another men’s singles match, Srikanth faced no challenge as he defeated Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew 21-14, 21-15. Meanwhile, Malvika Bansod and Devika Sihag have also advanced in the women’s doubles category.
