Chelsea’s disaster in the English Premier League continues. They suffered a defeat in their fifth consecutive match. Not a single goal was scored in these five matches. A team that was once firmly in fourth place has now become irregular and shifted to the middle of the table. Following a 0-3 loss against West Ham last night, Chelsea suffered a humiliating defeat.
This is the first time since 1993 that the team has lost five consecutive league matches without scoring a single goal. Due to this surprising string of defeats, the hope of finishing the league in fourth place and playing in the Champions League next year has become slim for Chelsea.
At the end of 34 matches, Chelsea’s points remain at 48. There are only four matches left in hand. At this moment, third and fourth-placed Manchester United and Aston Villa both have 58 points. Even if they win the final four matches, it will be difficult for Chelsea to secure the fourth position.
