The CM of Assam met with the delegation from Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hosted an eleven-member delegation from Bhutan’s Gelephu Mindfulness City Project at his Guwahati office. He discussed the project’s potential to foster sustainable development and regional collaboration. Members of the Core Working Group for the Gelephu Mindfulness City project and representatives from the Royal Bhutanese Consulate General are part of the group that is traveling to Assam and Meghalaya. The summit, which was marked by a cordial and friendly exchange of opinions, reaffirmed the friendship between the Kingdom of Bhutan and Assam.

Sarma welcomed the delegates, expressed his sincere gratitude for their visit, and emphasized the importance of the Gelephu Mindfulness City Project in fostering sustainable development and regional collaboration. According to him, the Assamese government is dedicated to helping this endeavor and shares Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s objective. He assured the group that the state administration would work closely with the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Core Working Group.

The Chief Minister of Assam, CM Sarma, has announced a project aimed at deepening institutional collaboration and people-to-people ties between the two regions. The project will provide opportunities for education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange for the youth. The Chief Minister encouraged the delegation to visit key institutions in Assam and use state-run facilities as models for developing the Gelephu Mindfulness City. He also expressed a desire to host the royal family in the future.
