Driven by the devastating spells of Blair Tickner and Nathan Smith, New Zealand secured a 26-run victory over Bangladesh in the first match of the three-match ODI series.
In the match held on Friday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Although they faced an early setback, losing opener Nick Kelly with the team score at just 21, the other opener Henry Nicholls and Will Young stabilized the innings. They shared a 73-run partnership for the second wicket, putting the team in a strong position.
