A meeting regarding a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Peru is likely to be held this coming June. This information was disclosed by a top official from Peru. According to the official, there is a possibility that the free trade agreement between the two countries will be signed by the end of this year. However, no information has been released by the Government of India in this regard yet.
It is noteworthy that Peru is the world’s third-largest producer of copper. Javier Paulinich, Peru’s Ambassador to India, stated that India’s Hindalco Industries has expressed interest in purchasing copper from Peru.
