Mjangblee Kemprai, the daughter of Babul Kemprai and Joymila Bodo from Daudung village in Mahur, has received the prestigious University Gold Medal from the Department of English, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Assam Don Bosco University, in a moment of celebration for the hills of Dima Hasao. Her remarkable accomplishment of earning the best Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 9.44 in the Master of Arts (English) program is recognized by this award. Originating from the quiet village of Daudung, Mjangblee’s journey from Step By Step School classrooms to academic fame is a prime example of the unrealized potential that exists in the northeastern hills of Assam.
At a little celebration at their house, her parents, Joymila Bodo, a famous teacher whose quiet strength has long supported the family, and Babul Kemprai, a devoted community leader, grinned with unbridled satisfaction. Amid the crowd of villagers and well-wishers, Babul Kemprai said, his voice full of emotion, “This is not just my daughter’s victory.” It serves as a lighthouse for all the young people in our hills who have dreams that go beyond the foggy valleys. Her gold medal serves as a reminder that there are no limits to brilliance.
