Development Must Focus on People’s Impact, Says Governor Nand Kishore Yadav

Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav has called for stronger coordination between government departments and civil society organisations to ensure inclusive and sustainable development in the state. He made the remarks during his visit to Chumoukedima district, where he interacted with civil society representatives, government officials, and beneficiaries of various government schemes at the Deputy Commissioner’s office complex.

Highlighting the important role of civil society in governance, community development, and maintaining social harmony, the Governor said development becomes more meaningful and long-lasting when government institutions and community organisations work together with a shared sense of responsibility.

“Development should not be measured merely by the number of schemes implemented but by their positive impact on the lives of the people,” Yadav said, stressing the need for effective implementation of government programmes.

The Governor urged all government departments to work with a clear vision, ensure transparency, and strengthen coordination so that welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary. He also called upon officials to remain responsive to public needs and address challenges through collective efforts.

Appealing to civil society leaders, Yadav encouraged them to continue promoting peace, unity, and constructive participation in public affairs. Expressing confidence in Chumoukedima’s future, he said that commitment, integrity, and teamwork would help the district grow further and fulfil its identity as the “Land of Opportunities”. The Governor’s message highlighted the importance of collaborative governance in building a more inclusive and progressive Nagaland.
