Bokakhat’s dialysis unit is inaugurated by Health Minister Ashok Singhal

Health Minister Ashok Singhal opened a dialysis unit at the Swahid Kamala Miri Civil Hospital, Bokakhat, on Monday as part of the Prime Minister National Dialysis Programme, marking a major advancement in the district’s medical infrastructure. Atul Bora, Minister of Agriculture and Excise, accompanied the Health Minister at the inauguration ceremony. With the newest equipment, the three-bed dialysis unit with one recovery bed is staffed by two skilled technicians.

The addition of the new dialysis unit will benefit and provide high-quality care for patients with kidney diseases at this hospital in the Bokakhat district. In addition to highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the state, the health minister emphasized the importance of raising public awareness of healthy lifestyle choices, such as eating a balanced diet, engaging in physical activities like yoga, and getting regular checkups to prevent non-communicable diseases.

In addition, the Health Minister checked the intensive care unit, registration desk, and other areas while interacting with patients and their attendants in the pediatric and medical wards. Along with other senior administrative and medical officers, public representatives, health workers, members of the local community, and others, the Mission Director, NHM, Assam, Dr. Lakshmanan S.; Director of Health Services, Family Welfare Kamaljeet Talukdar; Joint Director of Health Services, Golaghat, Dr. BL Deuri; and Co-District Commissioner, Bokakhat Shivani Jerngal, were present at the inauguration event on Monday.
