In order to implement a green revolution in the district, the Sonitpur District Agriculture Department emphasized the importance of using scientific farming practices. According to officials, farmers can double their production and make Sonitpur proud by regularly testing the soil and applying the appropriate amounts of pesticides and fertilizers at the appropriate times. In this context, the district agriculture department under ATMA arranged a special farmer-scientist interaction program at the Joint Agriculture Director’s Office Training Center at Mazgaon, Tezpur. In order to encourage self-reliance, the program also sought to provide farmers with guidance on fisheries and livestock production. The event was attended by more than 100 farmers from all throughout Sonitpur.
