Members of the F/142 Bn CRPF, along with the Golaghat Circle Excise department, carried out a focused offensive against the illicit manufacture of domestic alcohol in a major combined operation. A joint search operation was carefully organized and carried out in response to specific intelligence about the production of illegal liquor in the village areas of Tarani No. 1, Tarani No. 2, and Kolajan No. 6. The operation was carried out by one group of the F/142 Bn CRPF in conjunction with excise officers from Sector “D,” DAB, and Merapani police station.
The recovered materials were immediately destroyed during the procedure. About 4,100 liters of fermented wash and raw materials, 60 liters of illegally distilled whiskey, four sets of distillation apparatus, and other production-related tools and utensils were destroyed. There were no people arrested during the operation. The operation’s effective completion showed how dedicated the CRPF and Excise department are to preventing illegal alcohol sales and upholding peace and order in the area.
