Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a spot in the IPL playoffs with a convincing 23-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS). Virat Kohli (58) and Venkatesh Iyer (73*) led the charge with impressive half-centuries, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s decisive opening spell set the tone for RCB’s triumph.
RCB’s strong batting lineup, bolstered by Devdutt Padikkal’s (45) crucial contribution, propelled them to a commanding 222/4 in 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/38) and Rasikh Salam (3/36) were instrumental in restricting PBKS to 199/8, with the latter dismissing skipper Shreyas Iyer (1) early on.
This win marks a significant milestone for RCB, cementing their place in the playoffs. PBKS, on the other hand, face a tough road ahead to secure their spot.
