Despite losing a game, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made a brilliant comeback to enter the men’s doubles final of the Thailand Open Super 500 badminton tournament.
In the semifinal match held today, the Indian duo defeated the pair of Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin with a score of 19-21, 22-20, 21-16. Satwik and Chirag had to battle for 1 hour and 22 minutes to defeat the Malaysian duo.
Although they faced a slight challenge in the match, the Indian pair extended their head-to-head record against the Malaysian duo to 8-2. Notably, this is the first time this season that Satwik and Chirag have entered the final of a tournament.
