Actress Vidya Balan has yet to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan in a feature film; however, she has appeared alongside him in Heyy Babyy and in the song Deewangi Deewangi from Om Shanti Om. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actress mentioned Shah Rukh’s legendary pose and noted how he is adored by the entire country for his romantic movies.
What Vidya said
In the course of the discussion, Vidya expressed her thoughts on the transformation within the industry and the evolution of films over the years. She remarked, “Perhaps many of these filmmakers have studied overseas… or consumed an excessive amount of international content. They are not serving as assistants to directors. I may come across as overly experienced when I state this, but I believe they lack an understanding of our unique storytelling style! They are unfamiliar with it, which makes it feel foreign. It does not captivate me.”
About Shah Rukh Khan’s effect
She further stated, “I am appreciating the masala films as they lack pretentiousness. Many of these directors… they do not even employ close-ups. I find that quite astonishing. The sole method to connect with your character is via a close-up. Provide me with close-ups! Allow me to gaze into the eye! That is how the nation developed an affection for Shah Rukh Khan, for heaven’s sake! Just think if he were only performing this, he would not be as adored!”
In the meantime, Vidya was most recently featured in the horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which stars Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. The film premiered during Diwali last year and achieved significant success at the box office.
