How to take new BSNL SIM at your doorstep

In an effort to enhance mobile connectivity and increase user convenience, BSNL has introduced a new doorstep SIM card delivery service. The state-owned telecommunications provider has established an online portal that allows customers to request a new SIM card, whether prepaid or postpaid, to be delivered straight to their residence, thereby removing the necessity of visiting a retail outlet.

The introduction positions BSNL alongside private sector competitors like Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi), all of which currently provide comparable doorstep services. Nevertheless, BSNL has not yet specified if its home delivery service will be complimentary, as is the case with the three private telecom companie.

How to apply

In order to utilize the new service, users are required to navigate to BSNL’s specialized portal and select either the option to obtain a new SIM card with a new number or to transfer an existing number from a different network provider. This initiative represents BSNL’s strategy to draw in new customers while simultaneously providing current users from other networks with an uncomplicated method to transition. The procedure commences with the completion of a fundamental customer registration form for KYC verification. Applicants must provide their PIN code, complete name, and an alternative mobile number. Once these details are entered, the system dispatches a one-time password to the alternative number to validate the request. Additionally, a self-KYC step is obligatory prior to the issuance and delivery of the SIM.
