The new Mizoram DGP is Sharad Agarwal, a 1997-batch IPS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, according to authorities. He takes the place of 1996-batch IPS officer Anil Shukla, who had been transferred to Delhi. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced Agarwal’s appointment and Shukla’s transfer orders on Monday. Agarwal is currently employed by the Delhi Police as the Economic Offenses Wing’s special commissioner.
The order stated that Shukla would relocate himself to Delhi, although it did not specify how he would be assigned to his job. In June 2023, Shukla was appointed as the DGP, replacing 1995 batch IPS officer Devesh Chandra Srivastava.
