Northeast Frontier Railway Extends Key Festival Special Trains for Upcoming Festive Season

To accommodate the anticipated increase in passenger traffic and provide enhanced travel flexibility during the upcoming festive season, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the services of three pairs of Festival Special trains across key routes. Under the extended schedule, Train No. 05736/05735 (Katihar–Amritsar–Katihar) Festival Special will operate 12 additional trips in each direction from September 9 through November 27, 2026. Similarly, Train No. 05932/05931 (Dibrugarh–Kolkata–Dibrugarh) Festival Special—operating with a 22-coach dynamic composition—will run 13 additional trips in each direction between September 5 and November 30. Furthermore, daily services for Train No. 03407/03408 (Bhagalpur–Katihar–Bhagalpur) Festival Special have been extended for an impressive 94 trips in each direction from August 29 through November 30. According to an official press release from NFR, these expanded services aim to significantly ease congestion on high-demand routes and ensure smoother travel for homebound commuters. Passengers are strongly advised to verify all updated train timings, detailed schedules, and designated stoppages on official railway channels prior to undertaking their journeys.
