Major Drug Bust At Guwahati Railway Station: 55 Kg Ganja Recovered

Amid intensified police operations across the state against the illegal trafficking of narcotics, another major smuggling case has come to light. In a successful operation conducted as part of routine checks, a team of Guwahati Railway Police arrested three persons along with 55 kg of ganja from Guwahati Railway Station.

The police seized the ganja from the possession of the three accused and took them into custody. Taking advantage of the fact that it is a key transit hub for travel to the Northeast and other parts of the country, smuggling networks have been using the railway route. Keeping this in mind, the administration has tightened surveillance at stations, highways and major junctions.

Police have launched a marathon investigation to ascertain where the ganja was being trafficked from and to, and whether anyone else is involved in the trafficking network.
