The Mid-Hill Highway has been completely blocked in Baglung district following heavy snowfall accompanied by rain since Tuesday night, disrupting transport across several regions. Thick snow accumulation at Patihalne, a key junction connecting Baglung and Rukum (East), has caused the obstruction.
According to Inspector Tilak Manandhar, Chief of the Area Police Office in Burtibang, hundreds of passengers have been stranded as both short- and long-distance vehicles were forced to halt. Buses and other vehicles travelling from Kathmandu to districts such as Rukum, Jajarkot and Dolpa have been stopped at Bhalkot Sip in Nishikhola Rural Municipality-2 due to dense snowfall.
Authorities said continuous snowfall has reduced the chances of reopening the highway immediately. Police and local administrations are closely monitoring the situation, while travelers have been advised to avoid the route until weather conditions improve and snow is cleared.
