Firing at Assam Rifles Camp in Arunachal’s Longvi; Search Operation Underway

An Assam Rifles camp at Longvi, under Nampong Police Station in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, came under attack in the early hours of Friday, officials said.

According to officials, the incident occurred at around 3:15 am when suspected cadres of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) and NSCN (K-YA) allegedly opened fire on the camp.

Assam Rifles personnel retaliated immediately, prompting the attackers to retreat into a nearby jungle, sources said. No casualties have been reported so far.

Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to trace the suspected militants. Surveillance has also been intensified around the camp and adjoining areas following the attack.
