Tuophema Showcases Naga Culture and Craftsmanship to Nagaland Governor

Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav visited Tuophema Village on August 17, experiencing its rich cultural heritage, traditional practices and community-based tourism initiatives. The Governor received a warm welcome from the villagers and witnessed a traditional weaving demonstration by local women at the Naga Kitchen, gaining an insight into the village’s indigenous craftsmanship. During his visit, Yadav toured several cultural and community attractions, including Kharu, Tuophema Amphitheatre, Ancestral Kense’s Hut, Tuophezhu Hall and the Regional Craft and Resource Centre. The visit highlighted Tuophema’s efforts to preserve its traditional heritage while promoting community-led tourism and local craftsmanship. It also provided an opportunity to showcase the village’s unique cultural identity and the role of local communities in sustaining Nagaland’s rich traditions.
