As per the previously decided schedule, the final match of the current IPL was supposed to be held in Bengaluru. However, the match was recently shifted to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Following this decision by the BCCI, the Karnataka Cricket Association (KSCA) expressed strong dissatisfaction.
In response today, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that the final was ultimately relocated because the Karnataka Cricket Association requested more free tickets than necessary.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia informed journalists that normally, 15% of the total stadium seats are provided as free tickets. However, the Karnataka Cricket Association demanded an additional 10,000 free tickets. When the BCCI sought details regarding this request, the association stated they needed the extra tickets to provide to local MLAs (Members of the Legislative Assembly) and others, a justification they provided via email.
