India has been knocked out of the Uber Cup badminton tournament after a 0-5 defeat against China. The Indian women’s team started their campaign with a 2-3 loss to hosts Denmark, but kept their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive by securing a 4-1 win over Ukraine.
PV Sindhu: Led the charge for India but ultimately lost to Wang Zhiyi. In the deciding set, Sindhu was leading 18-12, but eventually lost the match 16-21, 21-19, 19-21. This gave China a 1-0 lead. Doubles Performance: The pair of Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra could not hold their ground against the duo of Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning, losing 11-21, 8-21.
Unnati Hooda & Tanvi Sharma: Were replaced in the team for other singles matches by Isharani Baruah and Devika Sihag.
Isharani Baruah: Put up a tough fight against Chen Yufei but missed a crucial opportunity after being at 20-19 in the first game, eventually losing the match.
