Yash Raj Films (YRF) has unveiled a calculated release strategy for Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3, focusing on accessibility and controlled distribution. To encourage footfall, the production house has directed cinemas to maintain ticket prices at “normal admission rates,” mirroring the pricing of the 2025 hit Saiyaara rather than premium blockbuster rates. This move is aimed at making the film affordable for a broader audience while capitalizing on the popularity of the franchise and the lead actress’s powerful screen presence.
The distribution plan also includes strict regulations on show timings and frequencies to manage the film’s theatrical footprint. In three-screen cinemas, the film is limited to four shows starting after 10:00 am, while larger plexes with five or more screens are capped at six shows per day. Notably, two-screen theaters are restricted to only two shows daily, starting from 3:00 pm onwards. Despite these specific guidelines, the film faces some show-sharing challenges with the ongoing hit Border 2, though YRF remains flexible by assessing single-screen releases on a case-by-case basis to accommodate elite viewing locations.
