Kussh S Sinha and Nikita Roy, discusses the box office competition between Sonakshi Sinha and Kajol

The horror genre is generating significant buzz at the box office this week, as two prominent releases compete for the audience’s attention. Making his directorial debut, Kussh S Sinha takes center stage with Nikita Roy, a supernatural thriller featuring his sister, Sonakshi Sinha. This film is scheduled to go head-to-head with Maa, a mythological horror drama directed by Chhorii’s Vishal Furia and starring Kajol. Both films are set to premiere on June 27.

Discussing the competition in the film industry, Kussh remarks, “This situation is not new. There are only a finite number of weeks available each year. Every filmmaker desires an unobstructed timeframe for their film’s release. Vishal Furia, the director of Maa, possesses considerable talent, and the supernatural genre is one that audiences particularly appreciate experiencing in theaters — especially in a dark setting. To encourage audiences to return to cinemas, we must provide them with captivating stories. Therefore, the more films released, the better

Reflecting on his path to becoming a director, Kussh states, “I believe it requires time. As is often said in the industry, each film has its own timeline. It can take some time to discover individuals who have faith in you and appreciate the significance of your narrative. Numerous directors spend nearly ten years before producing their first feature. We were confident in the quality of our story, and my goal is to evoke emotional responses from the audience.”
