The miserable performance of India in the Women’s Asian Cup continues. After being defeated by Japan 0-6 in the first match of the group league, India was crushed by Australia 5-0 in the second match.
With two consecutive losses in two matches, India’s departure from the tournament is now certain. On Wednesday, India will face China in the final group league match.
Australia’s performance against India was exceptionally dominant. By the end of the first half, Australia was leading 2-0. There was no improvement in India’s play after the break. On the contrary, the Australians scored three more goals to complete the rout. The first goal was a spectacular field goal, and the same striker later scored two more goals to complete a hat-trick.
