Hundreds of participants from all walks of life braved the pouring rain to join the “Tiranga Yatra,” which celebrated the success of Operation Sindoor. A group of prominent Silchar residents organized the event, which attracted impromptu attendance from state ministers to schoolchildren. The procession was marched to the Rangirkhari point in the midst of a torrential downpour after being waved off from the Silchar DSA venue. BJP state general secretary Kanad Purkayastha, local MLA Dipayan Chakrabarty, Minister Kaushik Rai, and other members of the ruling party attended the gathering, which was raucous with slogans like “Indian Army jindabad” and “Narendra Modi jindabad.” During the event, the prime minister’s remarks on the valiant army action was played on tape.
