Man kills wife, three children in Assam’s Dhemaji district

In a shocking incident, a man hacked his wife and two children to death with a machete in Jonai in Assam’s Dhemaji district on Wednesday.
The accused, who is a teacher by profession, has been arrested by police. He has been identified as Firoz Ali . He is working as Assistant Teacher of a Primary School named Gumchuk Primary School. The incident occurred at Telam Market in Jonai.
The deceased have been identified as his wife Chinuwara Begum (33), their daughters Rijika Begum (5), Naina Akhtar (13) and son Sakhil Ali (8).
During interrogation, he told police that inability to support his family with his meagre monthly salary of Rs 10,000 drove him to commit the heinous crime.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
