Aging is an inevitable part of our lives, and no one can truly avoid it. However, we often try to keep ourselves youthful, both physically and mentally, to varying degrees. Some people turn to exercise, while others focus on their diet. Some even resort to cosmetics or surgeries. Essentially, everyone wants to delay the onset of physical and mental aging. Now, a new study has revealed that regular travel can significantly help in slowing down this process.
Researchers at Edith Cowan University in Australia have presented remarkable data regarding this. According to the study published in the journal Journal of Travel Research, positive travel experiences can slow down the physical and mental aging of a person.
Scientists have analyzed this matter from the perspective of Entropy (the degree of disorder or randomness in a system). According to them, as age increases, the internal imbalance within the human body and mind grows, which science refers to as a state of “High Entropy.” Regular travel helps the body and mind overcome this “Entropy” state.
When we step out of our mundane daily routines—the four walls of our homes or offices—and find inspiration from new environments, it naturally brings about a change in our mental state. Visiting new places, meeting new people, and gaining new experiences can rejuvenate both the mind and the body.
