After a 20-year hiatus, Arsenal is moving in the right direction toward winning the Premier League title. Although they are ahead of their main rivals, Manchester City, by a lead of 6 points, the title is not yet guaranteed. Even winning their final three matches could leave Arsenal empty-handed. If Manchester City wins their next five matches, all of Arsenal’s hopes will end. Even if points end up equal, Manchester City would likely win the title based on goal average.
In the upcoming five matches, any loss of points for City would benefit Arsenal. Arsenal’s fate is now in City’s hands, but Arsenal hasn’t given up hope. By defeating Fulham 3-0 last night, they have kept their title hopes alive. Arsenal scored all three goals in the first half. Gabriel Magalhães scored two goals in the 9th and 45th minutes, and Bukayo Saka scored in the 40th minute. After 35 matches, Arsenal has 76 points. Manchester City has 70 points after 33 matches.
